Ryan Field: A New Vision
April 10, 2025
Northwestern University and our construction partners, the Central Street Consortium, share construction updates, project highlights and more.

Construction update from the Central Street Consortium

Steel columns are shooting skyward, while metal decking continues to snake around the concourses, forming the shell of the new Ryan Field. With concrete now poured over much of this decking, fans can start to imagine their walk to their seats in the state-of-the-art venue. Premium seating is also taking shape. Stadia risers are being placed, creating a foundation for chair-backed seats that will give fans a comfortable view of the action.

Soon, a third tower crane will rise into the skyline, ready to hoist materials to the top reaches of the new stadium. Meanwhile, new trades are arriving on site, preparing to enclose the structure over the coming months, adding the exterior elements that will define its final look.

In the meantime, work continues on essential infrastructure including mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
