Construction update from the Central Street Consortium

Berger Contractors prepared this week for installation of sanitary pipe improvements along Central Street.

Full installation will take place starting the week of April 20. At the end of each workday, any open excavation will be covered with steel plates and fenced off for public safety. Residents are asked to avoid the work areas as best as possible.

The pedestrian sidewalk on Central Street at the tie-in location (on the north side of the street) will be closed to the public. Since work will occur in the street, traffic will be reduced to one lane as directed by flagmen.

During construction, Central Street roadway and parking, will have limited access and parking, as well as single-lane flagged traffic between Ashland Avenue and Asbury Avenue. However, residents will be able to access their driveways. No Parking signs will be posted in corresponding areas.

Also this week, Ryan Field construction crews continue to make progress on the following:

• Stadium seat anchor and support system installation.
• Stadium general admission-style padded seating deliveries, installation and detailing on the west upper bowl.
• Student bleacher wall closure installation.
• East side north end storm trap backfill and compaction.
• East side south end storm trap precast concrete structure installation and excavation/hauling.
• Interior light gauge metal framing partitions throughout the stadium.
• Drywall hanging and finishing at the field level.
• Concrete masonry on field level, main concourse, upper concourse, as well as elevator shafts and mechanical shafts.
• Exterior framing and sheathing at upper levels on west side elevation.
• Exterior facade framing system on the north side proceeding around to the northwest.
• Limestone panels insulation installation on the east side.
• Overhead mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) and fire protection throughout the stadium.
• Overhead MEP pipe insulation within the stadium.
• MEP in-wall rough-in on all levels of the stadium.
• Metal decking operations for the markets and concessions located on the upper concourse.
• Canopy underside speaker cluster installation.
• West elevation club shingled glass system installation.
• Subroof installation at the southside main concourse and upper concourse scoreboards.
• Scoreboard facade framing.
• Scoreboard facade metal panel installation.
• Spray foam insulation.
• Ribbon video board delivery and installation.
• Miscellaneous metal and steel stair installation.
• Ceramic wall tile installation in main concourse and field level restrooms.
• Site concrete work at the northwest end for site improvements.
• Site concrete work at the northeast end for site improvements.
• Site work at the north lot.
• Storefront glazing installation at market on the main concourse.
• Fiber cement wall panel installation on the upper concourse.
