 | Celebrating one year since groundbreaking | On June 25, we marked the one-year anniversary of the groundbreaking for the new Ryan Field, a milestone that reflects the deep commitment to Evanston and the surrounding communities.
To honor the occasion, a press conference was held announcing Evanston and Chicago as the stadium’s second anchor tenant. The event served as a meaningful opportunity to illustrate the commitment to local communities by bringing together community leaders, elected officials, students and the Ryan family to highlight the field’s growing role as a shared civic space.
Notable attendees included Evanston Mayor Daniel Biss, Omar Brown of FAAM, Chris Levitano of Evanston Township High School, Dr. Pablo Celnik of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, Corbett Ryan and Pat Ryan, Jr. Their presence underscored a shared vision for a stadium that will serve as a true community asset for years to come.
